Lucas is a good looking kid whose father Richard played hoops at UO in the 80′s. He looks like he’s still learning the game, but his fundamentals are sound. And that gives him the space he needs to learn. He has great leverage and feet while posting, and he has a knack for sliding to the rebound even when he has a body on him. He’s starting to develop a mid-range set shot, and if he can extend it to 20′ he can be a deadly dual-threat. He needs to add some hand strength in order to play in traffic, but that will come with age. If you want a player comparison in terms of length, frame, effort, demeanor, potential game… even looks… I would point to our Blazers’ very own LaMarcus Aldridge.
He’s another great Oregon hoopster who will be hunted relentlessly by the high majors from everywhere.
