There’s not much to talk about in this game. The Beavs lost an uninspired game at Pullman, and now they’re looking for redemption.
Motum may be the man to watch for Wazzu, but the bit players should struggle in Corvallis.
If you all hadn’t noticed, our boys have shrugged off two heart-breaking losses and a pity party to bounce back with a 4-1 record since… with three of those five games on the road.
And now the Beavs get to revisit four of their six losses on more favorable terms… with some confidence.
The line for tonight is -9.5 Beavs. I’ll take that and more.
Beavs 87 – Cougs 69
Crucial game to reach .500 for the first time this season in conference play. I expect Roberto and Ahmad to break out of their slumps and come out guns blazin at the friendly confines of Gill.
In his last 8 games, Devon has been a flat out BEAST. 15 ppg, 5 rebs, 1 stl, 1 blk, and 63%fg. Although those numbers are quite impressive, I think the most telling stat is 71. As in his FT%. Recall, earlier in the year he was just above the Moreland line. Hard work has paid off, and now, he’s knocking the freebies down with confidence.
Motum will def be a tough cover, as he’s been for most Pac-12 teams. Curious to see how Coach Rob guards him. I think Joe is too slow, and Angus too unathletic. I’d go with the Pentagon!
OSU 83
WSU 71
Have you been right this year (2012)? I just swap the numbers (you post) and I’ve be right almost everytime. Have you been watching the same team as I have? We’re smaller, slower, play terrible defense, and love the 3 (which we shoot with a low %). The offense is terrible, they just pass the ball around the top of the key, and then jack-up a 3.The coach doesnt control the tempo with time-outs. He doesnt change the defense when needed. I’m sorry to say it (because I like him) but he’s a terrible game time coach. Wait until Saturday, Washington will get 25 lay-ups, mark my words.
You’re correct in three games… games which the team just failed to show up.
Smaller? There’s only one team in the Pac 12 bigger than us.
Slower? The numbers argue with you, not me.
In games where the team just doesn’t show up, you are correct. In a majority of our games this year, you have been incorrect. And if you’ve just swapped the numbers I posted, then you have also been incorrect for a filibuster-proof majority of the season.
You see only what fits your argument, and there’s not a great amount of that to make a good argument this season. There isn’t zero either, but I’m not the one calling a two-thirds full glass completely empty.
