Cheikh N’diaye
Cheikh N’diaye – 7’0″, 220, C/F, Carlsbad, Ca (Army-Navy)
This 16 year-old frosh is one of the youngest of the Senegal natives on the current US hoops scene. At 7’0″ he likes to play as if he were 4″ shorter. He has coordination and great hops. While his offense needs some improvement, he has a natural feel for post defense. He averaged about 10 points and 10 rebounds per game as a frosh, but the number that stands out is his 5.5 blocks per game. Still, he has good enough balance and coordination to quickly advance his offensive game to the D-I level and beyond.
He loves and wants to play NBA hoops so much that he grew up a little differently than other kids in Senegal… namely waking in the middle of the night to watch American hoops on TV.
I’m sure many high major programs will be knocking on the door at the Army and Navy Academy in the years to come. Count on Oregon State to be one of them.

Go cheikh! Just one comment? Jeez cmon everyone
A lot of hoops fans are all about the noise. Cheikh will make more than enough noise in the coming years. It just takes a while for people to see what has always been there.
Is this guy related to the guy that we just missed on that went to UW?
No. N’diaye is as common in Senegal as Smith or Jones is here.
we have 2 more of his ancestors on the bench waiting for next season so they can play they are 6,8 and7,0
