Tommy Hamilton Jr.
Tommy Hamilton Jr. – 6’10″, 230, PF, Chicago, Il (Whitney Young)
Like his name suggests, he is the son of former NBA player Tommy Hamilton. But unlike his 7’2″ father, Jr. can drop the ball from anywhere if left open. I shouldn’t say ‘unlike’. I should say ‘better than’ instead. Nobody knows when he’ll stop growing, but his ball skills seem to carry over with the growth. He has great touch and good footwork down low as well. There’s not too much to report on him at this time, but his level of play as a frosh surpasses most seniors… if you’re wondering how good he might be.
There’s a possible downside to Jr’s game. His father had academic and conditioning issues. One hindered the beginning of his career, and the other ended it. If Jr. is going to end up 7’2″, then he needs to lock in on a conditioning program. But I’m sure he knows all this already. The son is not the father, and the father teaches the son.
