Dai-Jon Parker
LOI to Vandy
Dai-Jon Parker – 6’3″, 185, SG, Alpharetta, Ga (Milton)
Parker had a decision to make which would greatly affect his future. He decided this past spring that he needed to concentrate on one sport during his senior year despite being a highly ranked wide receiver and shooting guard. He’s such a phenomenal athlete, that he could have probably dictated that he play both sports in college somewhere.
But he decided to go with hoops, and Oregon State is the better for that decision. Dai-Jon has been on Coach Rob’s radar forever. Well, he’s been on several high major coaches’ radars forever. But he has openly expressed his interest in the Beavs. So while he seems to be out of reach due to his spectacular play and all the attention that brings, he will still take the time to visit Corvallis later this year.
So what does he bring to the table?
Everything.
He has speed, quickness, vision, length and hops. He’s always active on the help side, and he can clear the glass with the bigs on his back. If you give him an inch on the perimeter, he’ll take a mile. If you man up he’ll take you, and he’ll finish at the rim without fear. If you’re not paying attention, he’ll make you pay.
He played the 2010 AAU circuit with a stacked Southern Kings squad, but he was who stood out the most. So there’s going to be a silly fight between high major coaches once the contact period begins. Wherever he plays college hoops, I’m going to watch just for fun.
